A service plan on SAP Business Technology Platform defines the specific configuration and set of capabilities offered by a service, allowing developers to choose the tier or feature set that matches their use case when creating a service instance. According to Entitlements and Quotas, when you purchase an enterprise account you are entitled to use a specific set of resources, and service plans are the vehicle through which those entitlements are allocated. Developers reference service plans when creating service instances — for example, via the Cloud Foundry Command Line Interface — and different plans within the same service (such as the app-host plan of the HTML5 Application Repository service) expose distinct capabilities suited to different deployment scenarios.
